FAQs

Q: Do I need a referral for the visit?
The need for a referral would depend on your insurance. Your primary care physician/pediatrician should be able to obtain one from your insurance company and assist you in the process. We will accept faxes from the primary care physician/pediatrician since the referral will have to be received in the office at the time of the visit.

Q: Do I need to accompany my child for the visit?
Yes, we require parents or guardian with the appropriate documents to accompany all patients under the age of 18.

Q: Do I need to prepare my child for any of the diagnostic tests?
No special preparation is required for noninvasive diagnostic testing.

Q: How long will the visit take?
Typically, new patient visits last approximately one hour and revisits one half hour depending on what, if any, testing is required. Electrocardiograms, consults and exams are done routinely. In some instances, additional testing is required. An echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound of the heart, can be done the same day if an ultrasound tech is available and time permits, or it can be scheduled for another day.

Q: What is my monetary responsibility?
You will be responsible for any applicable co-payment, deductible or coinsurance at the time of the visit.

Q: When will I receive results?
The timeliness of the results depends on the test performed. You will get results from the physician immediately when an electrocardiogram or an echocardiogram are done. Holter monitors are worn for a 24-hour period.

Q: Will you report the findings of the visit to my primary care physician/pediatrician?
